Channel 4 is to start filming a new reality TV series about the residents that live in Notting Hill. The show idea is said to have been brought about as replacement for the dwindling viewing figures that were associated with the now axed, Big Brother programme.

Channel 4 are planning to follow the exploits of 10 "highly engaging" twenty to thirty something, local residents twenty-four hours of the day. The filming is planned to be edited with the upmost speed to help ensure that the released episodes, remain on topic with current affairs. Channels 4 are said to have chosen the Notting Hill area due to it's ethinic diversity and dynamic mix of public and not-so public figures.

Stephen Lambert is the executive producer of the series with many other popular reality TV shows under his belt including Faking It and Wife Swap. Lambert was recently quoted as saying: “Channel 4 encouraged us to dream up something ambitious and risky. Most documentaries are filmed over several weeks and are edited over months. We are doing everything in a single week"

Stephen continued "This way we'll combine the best of documentary with the best of reality television and give viewers something fresh, insightful and immediate."

There are eight Notting Hill episodes planned in total, all of which will be screened later this year.
